Cable

I have to wait in on Friday morning so Mum-in-law is coming here for breakfast this week.

We’re changing from satellite tv to cable tv.  Hubby has organised it all, I just have to be there for the changeover.

The theory is that as we have our phone and tv from one supplier and our internet from another, then combining all three from a different supplier is going to save us money each month.

Of course, this has nothing to do with having a new up-to-date digital box for the tv and no longer losing signal from the satellite in the middle of a football match due to bad weather, or no longer having to go out in the middle of a snow storm to knock the build-up of snow from the dish to continue watching tv.

On another note, and I like how easy it is to change from one meaning of the word to another, I’ve bought a new jumper.  Hubby commented on how rarely I buy something new to wear, the reason for this is that I’m really fussy about what I like to wear and I’m a bit of a perfectionist.  I’d rather go without if something isn’t just right, and continue looking and waiting until the perfect item comes along instead.

My new jumper is a cricket jumper.  I’ve wanted one of these for ages.  I’m not sporty, and cricket is probably one of my least favourite sports, I’d probably rather watch a tiddly-winks tournament, but I like the cables.  I wanted the coloured stripes around the ribs to be navy and red, which you would think is easy, that’s the England team colours, but here’s the difficult bit, I didn’t want a badge on the front, and to make it more difficult, I wanted a cream jumper and not a white one.

I told you I was difficult to please, however, I waited, bided my time and found the perfect jumper in the most surprising of places.  I was shopping with middle daughter in Oxford on the weekend and we went into one of the shops I rarely visit.  It’s a very reasonably priced shop, but since I buy new clothes so rarely I need my clothes to last and I’m afraid the quality usually reflects the price.  However, my jumper is 100% cotton and was reduced from £16 to the bargain price of just £7 !

Another smile maker since I liked it enough to have paid the £16 for it.
