This old pump was a “water feature” at one of the  drinking establishments in Shanklin Old Village.  It was quite relaxing with the sound of the falling water and the lilypads and goldfish were a nice touch too.

A little further down the road was the entry to Shanklin Chine and it’s quite possible they shared the same landscape gardener as they had a lilypond too.

  1. Lovely images Hallysann. I love the first one with the characterful pump. I love the sound of running water – it’s instantly relaxing. It would be good to have something in the garden – you’ve got me thinking about that idea again 🙂
