A view across the water from the beach just a stone’s throw from where I grew up.  I don’t know who the “elderly” couple watching the ripples are, but (once I climbed over a locked barrier and wandered towards the water on the lifeboat runway) they were perfectly positioned to balance the picture.

As much as I really don’t want to admit it, there is a very strong possibility that the “elderly” couple were in school at the same time as me.

  1. Lovely! Beautifully composed, Sallyann! And I smiled at reading your comment that the “elderly” couple may well have been in school at the same time you were. I’ve been having some similar realizations lately, myself: Don’t feel a day over 25 on the inside … so I can’t figure out why I’m so wrinkly on the outside. 🙂

    • Thanks … and although I don’t dislike what the lady in the mirror looks like (which is just as well as she usually gets there before me), she is a little more overweight than I am, and I’m sure she’s old enough to be my auntie. 🙂

  2. Nice pic, Sallyann! And if that’s a stone’s throw from where you grew up, its also not vastly distant from my home range either – because the two islands are the Flat and Steep Holmes, aren’t they – good to see them! I’ve been out to Steep Holme – my god, it was nearly 50 years ago! Adrian

    • Thanks, it is a lovely spot (in my very un-biased oppinion 🙂 )
And since the water isn’t very tourist-friendly the beach is never too crowded for the locals to skim a pebble or two across the water. 🙂
