In search of spring

Once Christmas is gone, I find January always turns into a bit of an anti-climax.  I dropped into the park on my way home from breakfast on “Friday morning” to look for signs of spring, I saw a couple of green shoots but nothing to lift the spirits too far.   I do have snowdrop shoots in the pot of the Mountain Ash growing in my garden and Alice hasn’t found them this year yet so they’re still growing but they’ve not got as far a flowers yet.

Into the archives we go … here’s a little lonely snowdrop from last year, taken on the way home from Eldest Daughter’s house on Feb 19th last year so I guess we’ve got a little more waiting to do yet.

More from before : a dip into the archives for more “Flora, Fauna and Merryweather“.

  1. Wow – before I read the text, I thought you had captured an early Snowdrop this year! I wouldn’t be surprised if they came out extra early as it’s so mild. It felt very Spring like this morning. The birds thought so too 😉

    • An early snowdrop would have been good, but I wasn’t that lucky. 🙂
I have daffs shooting in the front garden too so I’d better do some weeding quickly. 🙂
