Well this is a strange award for me to be nominated for, I’ve always been pretty certain that I don’t deal in reality, I live in my own little world, cocooned in my own little bubble, wrapped up in cotton wool … However I do poke my head out now and again to see how the real world is getting on without me and I’ve obviously been spotted there because I’ve now been nominated from two different directions so here goes.
First of all Aj at “Ouch my back hurts” nominated me for the award back in November 2012. Aj’s reality spans two different personalities, on the one hand there’s the hope for “world peace” and the need to be the bread-winner and provider for his family, on the other hand there’s the artist, trying to get out through his camera and his writing. His blog is sometimes confusing, but always entertaining.
Then Dorine at “En Vrac” nominated me just this weekend. Dorine’s reality is a sort of reverse to what mine could have been. I was brought up in and around Cardiff and, given the chance, would be living in France and Dorine was brought up in France and is living in Cardiff. Add to this her quirky, vintage dress style and it all adds up to another very interesting and entertaining blog.
Now to the award, as usual there are rules to be followed.
The first rule is that you must thank the person who nominated you and leave a link back to their blog. So my thanks go out to both Aj and Dorine, and please follow the links above to take a peek at their blogs, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
The second rule is to answer the five award questions …
1. If you could change one thing, what would it be ?
I think I would change the pace of life, I would make it slower so that we have time to stop and smell the roses as it were, everybody has to rush about so much with so much to do and so little time to do it that life in general just passes by and before we notice it, it’s gone.
2. If you could re-live one day, which would it be ?
I think I would like to re-live tomorrow … over and over and over again.
3. What’s one thing which really scares you ?
To choose just one thing ! hmmn, I think I’d have to say moving out of my comfort zone, stepping out of my bubble.
4. What’s one dream you have not completed yet and do you think you’ll be able to complete it ?
I would like to live in a little flat by the seaside, near enough to the local school to hear the children’s laughter from the playground and I would like my children and grandchildren to visit me as often as they like. Do I think I can achieve my dream ? “One day …“.
5. If you could be someone else for the day who would you be ?
I think I would like to be my “Great-great-great Grandma Sarah“. I would choose a day later in her life when there was a gathering of the huge family, I’ve done so much family history research into her life and the lives of her children, grandchildren etc that it would be wonderful to actually spend time with them all.
Finally, I have to add my own nominations for The Reality Award. Now as very often happens when words are passed from one person to another and another in a chain, the words change slightly, a bit like the game of chinese whispers. Aj’s award says to nominate three bloggers while Dorine’s says to nominate five so I’m going to take the middle route and nominate four.
Nominate four other bloggers to pass the award onto …
In no particular order …
Meanderer at “The Lantern Room” for always being able to find beauty to photograph, even on the most grey of days.
Robin in “The Bogs of Ohio” for sharing her daily walks around the pond while watching the sun rise and set with some brilliant coloured displays.
Jackie at “Let the Great Wheels Spin” based in the Isle of Man, for making my memory smile with real pictures of a wonderful holiday destination.
And Cynthia at .”Wazeau’s World” for really making me smile with pictures of the antics of her cats and parrots.
It was so much more difficult to choose just four blogs to nominate than I thought it would be so please slip across to the links of my BLOGGING BUDDIES and drop into as many blogs as you feel like, they’re all wonderful.
