Ohh ohh Venice

64. Oh oh Venice.

Picture this little alley way full of people on a busy Venice morning …

Then picture a beautiful young brunette dressed in a scarlet red dress carrying a sliver coloured metal briefcase as she hurriedly climbs to the top of the bridge.

Now picture a dashing hero, sun-bleached hair and sky-glazed blue eyes, searching for the brunette and catching a glimpse of her red dress as she descends the steps on the other side of the bridge to disappear into the throng.

Will our hero choose to follow his heart and save the woman he loves or will his loyalty to King and country save the day ?

I won’t spoil the plot if you haven’t seen the film, but if your imagination is in need of a little help, picture Eva Green as the beautiful brunette and Daniel Craig as the dashing 007, in Casino Royale and that should help.

I didn’t need to go hunting to take this particular picture, I knew exactly where it was the moment I saw it on the film.  If you look carefully at the wall on the left just as you descend the steps on the other side of the bridge you can see a hotel sign hanging next to a doorway, Hotel Cavalletto, I know it’s a little difficult to read so take my word for it, this was the hotel that I stayed in with Eldest Daughter on our previous visit to Venice, “Room with a view“.

I searched out the hotel again on this visit to show Hubby where we had stayed and couldn’t pass up a picture of the little alleyway and bridge which had caused so much excitement while watching the film.

62. Hotel Cavalletto.

This was the gondola stop just outside our window, our window was on the second row up, to the far right and also the doorway with a balcony around the corner.

… and here’s one I made earlier, back in 2006.  See me in the window ?
