Staying on St. Michaels Mount and following on from yesterday’s poke around in the files, I quite easily caught this bird on camera. It appeared to be snoozing after a dip in the sea.
Can anyone tell me what bird it is please ?

More from before : a long weekend in “Falmouth“, “Cornwall” in September 2014.
Hallysann, its a Shag, a smaller relative of the Cormorant. And it likes rocky coasts like the one you’ve shown it on here. It eats fish, which it very speedily and acrobatically pursues underwater. Adrian
Ahh, so it had been fishing and was probably dosing in the sunshine with a full stomach. 😊
Thanks. It let me get in pretty close with the camera. 😊
Well, it could probably see its reflection in the lens and thought “Who’s a pretty boy then?” I know, I’m mad … 😀
