The terrace

I couldn’t possibly leave Park Guell without taking you up for a look at the mosaic seats on the terrace.

I don’t think Gaudi needs any more introduction so I’ll just let your eyes wander over his creation for themselves.

Peopleless park pictures

If I’d have had unlimited time in Barcelona I would probably have spent most of it in Park Guell.  There were pictures everywhere, unfortunately, the people were everywhere too.  I’m pretty good at waiting for the right moment, I’ll see a picture I want to capture and stand for ages  in the right position until the time is right.   Unfortunately I didn’t have an endless amount of time and only managed to capture a few of my pictures without people.

2014-06. Stone benches.

Now I know that sometimes people are good for a picture, they add scale and often humour or personality to the pictures, but on a lovely sunny day, out for a stroll in the park, people aren’t always what you’re looking for.

2014-06. Strange pillars.

Sometimes I don’t feel like I want to share.  I like to share my pictures, and I’m usually quite happy to share the memories which go with them, but I don’t very often like to share the moment they were taken.

2014-06. Guell ceilings.

It’s not that I’m not a people person, I do actually like people, I just don’t like too many people and I guess that if they’re not in my photos I can imagine the place was quiet and peaceful and because my memory plays tricks, eventually the imagination will become the memory and it will be a more relaxing memory to remember.

2014-06. Pillars.

In lots of these pictures, the people are there, you just can’t see them.  I’ve stood for ages in my chosen spot and eventually clicked the button as they passed out of view, hidden behind a pillar or a bush or something.  Can you see the person in the last picture, my timing wasn’t quite right, nearly, but not quite perfect.
